A word we are all familiar with, but perhaps an understatement when going to the doctor believing that there is a tumor growing inside of you, only to discover that inside your womb, a life was being formed. The Ross family had not planned on having another child, but on January 16, 1977 they gave birth to a son. Soon, that feeling of surprise was once again upon them
Dorsey was born with a birth defect known as Apert’s Syndrome, which is characterized by malformations of the skull, face, hands and feet. Plainly speaking, his forehead was pushed outward, his nose and mouth were pushed inward, and his fingers and toes where fused, meaning he had no individual movement of them. Doctors gave Dorsey's parents no hope for his survival and advised them to put him into an institution. Thankfully they both knew and trusted in God and they believed that He has a plan and a purpose for Dorsey's life.
With all odds against him, Dorsey endured sixty eight operations. Put up being made fun of in school. Being told he would not make it in college. And after years of hard work and perseverance, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministry from Valley Forge Christian College. Eventually Dorsey felt a calling from God, telling him that God wanted him to go out giving his testimony of what God has done in his life.
Dorsey has a powerful testimony that will minister to anyone from youth to adults, young
people to old people, and those who have disabilities to those who don't. Since 2007, Dorsey has been credentialed with the Assemblies of God, as an evangelist. He currently resides in Long Island, New York.
